 Purple Fairy Wristlet



 1) Prepare the materials: Yardage is based on 42" wide fabric
  • 1/4 yard of Purple Fairies for the outer bag main body
  • 1/4 yard of purple polka dot for the outer bag frame
  • 1/4 yard of unbleached cotton for lining
  • 1/4 yard of 22" wide medium weight interfacing
  • 12 " purple zipper

 2) Cutting
  • 2 rectangles 8" x 6" of Purple Fairies for the outer bag main body
  • 4 rectangles 11" x 1.5" of purple polka dot for the outer bag frame
  • 4 rectangles 8" x 2" of polka dot for the outer bag frame
  • 2 rectangles 10" x 7.5 " of  unbleached cotton for lining
  • 2 rectangles 10" x 7.5 " of  medium weight interfacing
  • 1 rectangle 12' x 3' of polka dot as strap


 3) Making the wristlet

  • Use 1 cm seam allowances for all the sewing.
  • Pin 2 rectangles ( 11' x 1.5') at the upper and bottom side as shown below. Sew at the black line.
  • Pin 2 rectangles ( 8" x 2") at the left and right side as shown below. Sew at the black line.




  • Iron the fabric and you will get the outer bag as shown below




  • Cut all the excess and do the same for the second outer bag.
  • Iron on the interfacing at the wrong side of the fabric for both outer bag.
  • Pin the zipper and sew it as shown below.
  • Do the same for the second outer bag.
  •  Fold the 12" x 3" of polka dot straps shown in the picture below.
  •  Fold it again and sew at the open edge of the strap from end to end.
  • Position the strap on the right side of one outer bag piece about 1/2" below the zipper tab, matching row edges.

Sew the unbleached cotton 10" x 7.5" as shown below.
  • Bring the outer bag rectangles right side together, pin along the raw edges. Repeat with the lining rectangles. Make sure the zipper is folded evenly at both ends. Unzip the zipper halfway. You will be turning the bag inside out through the open zipper, don't forget this step! Sew along the black line. Leave 3" gap along the bottom edge of the lining.
  • Pull the outer bag through the lining gap and open zipper.




Stitch the gap in the lining closed and push the lining into the bag.


Fill it with your wallet and handphone. You're Done!
